Next one is also an AA model that came in last month. Just a must have for any collector, the Lamborghini Diablo SE30. AA offers plenty of variety with different colours and with of without the 'Jota' package. I choose the most obvious (at least I think it is) with the Viola SE30 with the Jota upgrade.
The model itself? Very, very good. Exterior, interior, engine bay are perfect. Engineblock itself slighty too plastic looking I think. But that is a bit nitpicking.

Nice! Are the seats and dash textured?

Looks awesome. Perfect color too.

Lovely add! I have the "presentation" version. CLASSIC KYOSHO!

Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Lamborghini Diablo SE30 Jota)
Next model I want to show you is not completely new in the collection, but a model I restored a couple of months ago. I had a Kyosho 512BB in the collection for over 20 years and it was quite severely damaged, had massive rash over nearly all the panels and some parts missing. When a year ago I was at the house of another collector for the pickup of the AA Mercedes 190 Evo2, he told me he had dropped his 512BB and if I wanted it for Diorama parts. I took the model, completely disassembled that one and also my own and rebuild one decent model out of the parts. I also managed to save the paint by a complete wet sand plus polish and repainted all the matt black window trims. It is not 100% perfect, but many times better than how it was.
Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Ferrari 512BB)
Good job on the re-store... Classic Kyosho again, and never enough Ferraris
Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Ferrari 512BB)
This is a really old model by Kyosho, but I still think it looks really good. I have the earlier 365GT BB version (with 3 tail lights & exhaust tips per side). Great job on the restoration!

Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Ferrari 512BB)
Time for a French addition. The Citroen SM is a timeless classic which I had to add at some point. Norev released a new colour not so long ago (orient blue) which I liked, so I finally added a SM. One thing I didn't like was the interior colour, which was also blue. I rather have a contrasting interior. Also I believe the earlier releases of the SM came with flocked interior, so I was a bit of surprised that in this case it was all bare plastic. So 2 reasons to directly strip the model down and change that. I changed the colour to a more period correct brown, with corresponding flocking. The trunk was flocked in grey as is the interior headliner.
The model itself shows its age. It isn't bad, but looking at panel gaps, chromework etc, it is obvious that it wasn't engineered recently. Nice detail is the fully adjustable ride height, like on the real SM.

Not my cup of tea but the details look great, especially the motor!

Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Citroen SM)
It is very much rush hours here with pre-orders coming in at the moment, so straight to the next update, the Kyosho Giulietta Sprint 'veloce'. It is a car that you can't not love. Kyosho did a decent job on it. Not perfect (shame about the sticker used for the instrumentcluster), but it is still a lovely model. Paint is note worthy, it is perfection.
Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce)
This is a lovely Alfa. The model looks great. The passenger door however has some issues. A large gap and a “dent” on the door. The dent is present on all models and is probably a mold problem. That won’t prevent me to get one though.

Not my cup of tea, but I like the effort overall. We never received a sample for review, maybe Kyosho thinks we're too critical

I noticed that issue as well. It is not that big though and as you said, it is very much worth getting one, the model is good. I looked at the 'veloce' and non-veloce' version (the latter comes in white and blue) at the shop and Kyosho has all the differences between the two spot on. No glovebox lit, different windows, different engine details etc on the 'veloce'. They did a solid effort here.

Maybe to do with all the transport problems in the world at the moment? Quality wise they have nothing to hide with this model. The shop I bought it at is an official Kyosho dealer and they also said the transport is a nightmare. Kyosho has plenty of new models ready in China for shipping, but the harbors in China are the problem with all the Covid lockdowns over there.
