Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR-1)
Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Lexus LFA)
Nice addition. I didn't love the LFA when it came out, but really like it now. Great color choice & I've always really liked these rims.

Next arrival (from a while ago) is the OttoMobile Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm. Car doesn't need much introduction, I guess for many collectors a must have. Plenty of choice between model makers at the moment. Did I make the right choice going for the Ottomobile? Not sure... The model needs some modifications as there are some issues straight from the box. Especially the stance is wrong, too high, but way, way too narrow. Also the absence of harnesses is annoying.
But, those are not things that are impossible to add or modify, so it will join the to do list. Also no CF, but gloss black paint instead, but that doesn't bother me as much as the stance.

I can see improvements here over their sister brand Solido. Though in the example above I do not like how the front wheels sit inside the wheel well instead of aligning with the outer edge. I have the BBR, it is the best example to date but far more costly!

Some models have left the collection or are replaced with one of the above. The total count in 1/18 models is 230 at the moment, all on display, not a single one in a box. Some models haven't been shown yet in detail, but that will come in the following weeks (given time).
I hope everyone has had a merry christmas! I like to wish everyone a happy new year, both in health and in collecting!
Like every year, many pictures of the display cabinets, enjoy!

Classic Kyosho. I own the presentation version of the above.

Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Overview of the collection)
Thanks gentlemen!
Not any time soon. Plenty of room in the current cabinets for an extra 130 models (cars can go 3 wide if necessary). The current planning is to make a custom cabinet on the wall where the rig is currently. Won't be in 2023, but the current cabinets won't be full at the end of the year either. With that in place and the current 16 Ikea detolfs the capacity will be well over 500. As the collection is growing at around 20-25 models a year I maybe start to worry about space in 10 years or so

Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Overview of the collection)
One of the models I still needed to photograph is the Norev Mercedes 190SL. In my opinion one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Better than the big brother 300SL even. The model is, for a budget brand like Norev, pretty damn good. Only real downside are the solid grills, but I wasn't expecting any either.
Norev made plenty of colour options over the years and in the end I pulled the trigger on a dark greenish blue one with beige interior. Very nice combination.

I'm curious, what did you do to add the extra glass shelves to the Detolf cabinets?
