Replacement for a missing radio antenna

Post by Hornet » Thu Feb 21, 2019 9:09 pm

I recently purchased a Franklin Mint 1951 Fabulous Hudson Hornet which is missing the radio antenna and I was wondering if anyone out there has one for sale, or knows where I can find one?

I've heard of people using acupuncture needles as scale antenna.

Thanks I'll look into that. I also need the base too.

You could pick up a similar part from autoartspares.com

Ok, I had a look at autoartspares.com , it's fantastic, spare parts for diecast models ! Sounds a little insane, but on the other hand , it's brilliant , we live in a throw away society , so at least now some damaged models can get a second chance !

A thought from an old guy, take a acupuncture needle put a small 90 degree bend in it insert in the hole for the original or drill a tiny hole just above the windshield, put a small drop of thick super glue on it and when dry a small drop of silver paint should give the appearance of the antenna mount. Cut to the appropriate length and Walaa!☺️
