Storage box for 1:18 car. (Not a display case.)

Post by Morgan » Sun May 17, 2020 1:10 pm

Hello everyone,

Newbie from the UK here. Nice to be here. Looking forward to reading and learning.

I have an opportunity to buy a second-hand (and my first) AutoArt 1:18 car. However, it comes without its original box. Is there a recommended box that can accommodate the car safely and securely when I don't have it on display?

Thanks in advance,

Morgan

Hi, welcome to DS! As for your question, yes you can transport a scale model safely without the original box. What the seller should do. Secure each open bit with tape and piece of foam to direct pressure on the object so it doesn't open. I like to use painters tape because it is easy to use and provides enough tact. Next enough the mirrors are protected too. Once this is complete wrap in bubble wrap, not much is required. Lastly, place the model in appropriate size box and ensure the model is secured and does move around. Good luck!

I would try a good quality size 12/14 shoe box with the appropriate packing as noted above,
