CWH, again my argument of a diecast F40vs. resin. If you can't do this or display as so, what's the point?

thats a nice model but do you too tell me that if i don't display the models i own with their hoods and doors open theres no point to displaying them? just the amazing shape of the F40 could have me entertained for quite some time. In fact Ferrari s probably one of the greatest car manufactures for car designs

No.

Ferrari is all about race and speed. The monster that beats under the skin is the primary focus, well usually. What I'm saying is, the resin maybe slightly better in detail, BUT you can find a diecast with opening bits that is more inspiring for a lot less. The F40 resin with set you back $500 plus CND. I'm not factoring in the tax either.

I understand what you're saying and I agree. I hope that Bburago knocks it out of the park with Ferrari. I have a Hot Wheels Elite F430 Scuderia and LOVE IT. If all Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari were made to that standard then there would be zero issue.

Looking though your new post with all the pictures of the 2016 Nurburg Fair I was totally Impressed with the BBR F12 TDF. The amount of detail on the exterior is amazing it literally looks like the took the real car and shrunk it. I have a soft spot for front mid engine V12 Ferrari so I'll admit that its a shame to not be able to see the V12 in front but then maybe thats the trade off. The doors not opening is not too big of a problem unless its a car like the Enzo that has "unique" opening doors. You can still see inside the car and its interior so thats a bonus as well.
The BBR 288 GTO looks great as well. I understand the price will not be cheap for these models but when it comes to Ferrari your options are limited to an overpriced eBay 288 GTO made from old molds of a brand new resin with lots of exterior detail.
anyways, I wish I had a crystal ball and could look into the future and see the future of Ferrari and fully opening Die Cast cars

Be nice guys. Don't comment bait each other and behave like adults. Not everyone has to be politically correct all the time.

A little too peppery, that's why! You guys get too excited. So I'm trying to prevent a shitstorm cascade from starting.

If you think my comments are bad Lucky13, then you should read abut comments regarding Auto Art composite models.

I think Lucky13 is part of the Ferrari mafia :worthy:

Jeez that was a LONG read. Some valid points... I understand the passion as I've been a collector since the early 90's. The main reason I developed this website was so people could express their opinions without consequence, well to certain extend LOL :)

For the people in that need to know I was a active member on another form for many years, approaching 20,000 posts. I was tired how certain "owners" and "moderators" bullied and alienated certain individuals that had any affiliation towards the AUTOart brand. I came to the defense of a few. Basically calling them fascists and bullies! I was restricted for my comments, and eventually I was banned. What pissed me off the most, when members asked why myself and others members were banned they were filled with BS and conjuncture, they also moved my post count next to nothing. Why do I point this out, because there was a trend there to ban many that provided to that community, it would make other question of their practices. By lowering the post count others would assume this individual was a troll or what not... Enough about me!

Believe me I understand that resin has its place, I've been advocating for years they are "placeholders" until some making a diecast with opening bits! I will continue to call a spade a spade. What grinds me most is the likes of Minichamps with their resin brand, charging 3-4 times more than OttOmobile/GTS creation is just wrong, I refuse to buy any... I will call out manufacturers were I see fit, you can agree or disagree, that what's makes us human. My recent comments about the AUTOart composite Huracan took some flack from collectors here and through FB, sorry this is how I felt, the detail is there but the model has lost its SOUL!

A "place holder" is a very well way to put it. Perfect explanation and the truth. No resin will ever replace a fully opening Diecast of the same quality. As I have said before, my first and only resin so far is the GT Spirit RUF CTR2 and I got it because there isn't a model of this in die cast and I really like it.

Funny thing is, I got "restricted" on that same forum as you KRATIG for defending Auto Art as well. I actually wouldn't even call it defending, more like going against "popular" opinion and stating that I'm willing to pay the higher prices for Auto Art because their models are very pleasing and of higher quality. They actually make modern super cars and not just cars from the 60's and older like other high end die cast makers. This happens in Forums of all different hobbies. I call it an "old boys club" and certain members mainly the Moderators(the ones that are supposed to encourage a positive environment) feel that they are entitled and everyone should kiss their asses. Any deviation against their popular opinion is ostracised and bullied even if you present it in a respectful manner.

Die Cast Society is great and its an asset to the Die cast Forums. KRATIG's reviews are second to none and that "other big die cast forum" sure like to reference this forum and use its material from time to time I notice. As for the Auto Art Lamborghini Huracan, I agree with KRAFTIG that although the price is high I will be buying it (in Lime Green) because I'm a huge Lamborghini fan and it deserves a spot in my cabinet. I could go with a leaser Huracan (say welly) model but I'm always persuing the very best and the extra details are worth the extra money too me even if it is significant. Plus, I love Auto Art and would like to have all Auto Art Lamborghinis in my collection to have continuity.

A perfect example of a model that will most likely NEVER see light of day in diecast form. One I relish at the opportunity to own in scale form and thanks for GTS I do!

LOL I never knew, its has been a number of years since I've been banned, haven't looked back in years! All things happen for a reason. In this case the DS was born

no I didn't see it........from what I took I must have taken an awful blasting of insults hahahaha. Like I said, its all in good fun and we are all just passionate about model cars.
Rarity, limited edition #'s and bragging about how much a models cost be damned. I'm just in this hobby to increase my love of all things cars. Your write up about the history of models cars was very interesting and I plan to re read it again later tonight. I found it very interesting to hear your view on collectors and "limited production models". Interesting because I couldn't fathom bragging to people that I have a $600 resin model that only 20 were made..........nobody around me gives a shit about my model cars as it is, just ask me wife hahahah

there are some really nice new pics of the resin Testarossa floating around the internet. I wonder if there will be any new F40 shots soon?
