Kyosho Ferrari F40

Post by Gavin » Wed Feb 03, 2016 3:32 pm

Bought this model about 5 years ago from a fellow collector (along with Kyosho's 512TR). The F40 has always been one of my favorite Ferraris. I bought the Bburago right when they came out in 1:18, 1:24 & 1:43 scale & have numerous Hot Wheels/Matchbox versions. I bought the Hot Wheels Elite right when it came out & was very happy with it (still am) & now have this masterpiece. A friend of my in-laws has a '92 F40 & I'm trying to figure out a way I can get a ride. :manual:

This is the Kyosho's original release. While I really like the rims on the high-end version, the detail improvements weren't worth the price difference to me.

I have the same, one of my favorite Ferraris. I recently acquired the 1:12 Kyosho in Red. After buyers remorse, and second guessing my decision to open the can of worms in 1:12 I sold it a month later :(

Buyer's remorse? Was it just not much of an improvement over the 1:18?

Love the Kyosho F40. It holds its head up proudly in the presence of AUTOart Signature series models.

No the detail was there, I just didn't want to go down the 1:12 scale path...

Very iconic car. I never really liked the car before but I've definitely warmed up to this over the years

Why would you pay twice as much for a sealed BBR, instead of getting a perfectly well done diecast with opening parts?
Lol I was thinking the same thing!

Nothing against BBR, I think believe, an open, diecast F40 is better than a sealed one. Couple that with a very good Kyosho model, it to me seems like the winner. Should be cheaper too :money: :money:

Guys! I think the F40 is about to be re-issued by Kyosho. Found this picture in a report on a Japanese website from this years Shizuoka Hobby Show. There was no text attached to the pic and I´ve not been able to find any more info on the web. But I´ve got my hopes up.
I´m not sure if this is the same model that is presented in this thread of if it´s a new one. The tight shutlines makes me think it´s a sealed variant so maybe it will be released under the "Ousia" brand.
The price is definitely up there with the other Ousia models at about 380 USD.

Myself that is a resin model. It was announced maybe a year or so ago with a few other Ferraris cars. It cost more than the old diecast ones, which is nuts!

Although, try finding a diecast one at a lower price than that.

Classic car. Wish Kyosho would re-release a lot of their Ferrari's so I could pick some up at a fair price.
