I have my doubts about the size of those M3 wheels. Looking at the images of this particular variant on the 'net, they appear to be undersized....

Agreed. It might be the fault of the colour of this version, since the Group A/DTM race versions look fine. And those racers were required to run with unmodified body shells at the time (evo. models of the original could have small body work changes - i.e. front splitter and rear wing upgrades). So the basic body shape produced by Minichamps should not be any different. Full compliance FIA approved group A ran from 1982 - 1988.

The shape of the Minichamps M3 is right, but the wheels on the street car have been undersized since the model came out in 2003. That's why I went with AA's street car....though AA never did this Ravaglia Edition.

This subject shows that Minichamps did get the shape of the E30 M3 correct. But 'green wall' tyres? :>) I am waiting for the promised 1987 WTCC version, and have a hankering for the long awaited Opel Commodore Group 2 racer. I need more money though!

That is a funky livery...kind of like it, though.

StratosWRC wrote:I guess when it comes to resin it really doesn't matter what the price is, because the quantities are so limited per mould, that all of the product is virtually guaranteed to sell out. With diecast, there is an immense investment in terms of tooling and research so a lot more models need to sell to return any kind of profit. This is why we get these resin models limited to a few hundred pieces that don't really stick around for long.
So just to clarify, resin is easier to produce, and so manufacturers are leaning towards that so they can have a more limited run?

More profit actually. Limited run is just the innate property of resin moulds.

Well they're shit, that's why lol. You saw the pics. Takes absolutely no effort or detailing to make one. BBR and MR are very very limited (at least in terms of units per colour haha) plus they have to pay that insane Ferrari license.

If I was still collecting Minichamps, I'd have all of those Capris. How sick does that look. Just as outlandish as the IMSA 90 Quattro
