Long time ago since I last posted something here, but here we go: The volvo P1800 ES from minichamps in scale 1:18. Found this one last month in a local store here in Belgium. I would have preferred the blue one, but this gold one was just to beautiful to pass, especially since this little volvo has become so rare. By far, this is one of the best minichamps out there. Although the mold is quit old, it has some striking detail, like the very well executed beige interior, the nice gas struts on the trunk lid and a detailed engine compartment.
I tried to capture the '70 in my pictures:
I haven't got much Volvo's in my collection, a make that has been very neglected in scale 1:18. I hope to be adding the new S60L very soon to my collection.

This model/car is soooo cool! I didn't even know this model existing until I saw photos of it a year or so ago. Lucky you for finding one, was the price fair? I know these are going for ridiculous money today.

Well, I paid 110 euro for it here in a local store, not very cheap, but if you look at prices on ebay for a mint model, I think it's quit OK.

The Montreal looks much like an owl. With the "eyelids" in the down position, it looks calm and serene, and in the up position, it looks aloof and startled haha. And the centre grille looks kinda like a beak too. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the car. Just hilarious how it reminded me of an owl there.

I don't have a single Volvo in my collection, but I always wanted to find the blue one...really well done model. I thought about getting the Revell Coupe version, but there's something about this wagon that I love.

Never thought about it this way, but now that you mention it, it does look like an owl. But I still love the model. Really, if you can find this model at a decent price, don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed. By far one of the best autoart's out there.StratosWRC wrote:The Montreal looks much like an owl.
