Is your contact Euro or North American based?Lucky13 wrote:I have slightly different info, which of course may be wrong, but according to someone who just got their order confirmed, the first LaFerrari shipment will be shipping in mid December.[KRAFTIG] wrote:Well I have some news on the 1:18 LaFerrari. my US source confirmed we won't see the model until early 2015. Now, according to licensing practices, Mattel have between 45 and 90 days after their license agreement expires to sell all their announced production, depending on their agreement with Ferrari. It would be common sense that if they wait for the very end, they would have to give huge discounts to their distributors to sell off their whole production in very short time.

Hmmm... My contact is US based and resides within the industry too. Only time will tellLucky13 wrote:North American. And there are three of them. One is a Hobby Shop with very deep roots in Diecast and the other two are Certified Ferrari Dealerships at two ends of the country. None are local to me.
I need to also ask a good friend of mine in Europe who also owns a couple of model shops that specialize in diecast. See what he would say.

The cutline on the engine cover looks huge. The 1:1 has this too...anybody know why Ferrari did that?

If the product is already available at the disrubutor here in North America then we're good to go otherwise I see early Jan 2015 release for us.
I pre-ordered the red, since all my Ferraris are red it must be red. I very happy they produce a stellar piece, a swan song or sorts. Thank you Hot Wheels Elite and Mattel

It looks great in the pictures. Hard to believe it's just $130

Wow! I must say it seems to look amazing. Especially for the same price as I paid for my 1:43 BBR. I wasn't expecting this level of craftsmanship to be honest. Chapeau bas, Hot Wheels Elite!

interesting info...thanks!Lucky13 wrote:It is called a character line. It is the same thing that the F40 and F50 have, separating upper and lower body. It waas introduced on the Daytona with the idea to symbolize a sword's channel in the middle. It became a signature Ferrari feature with the Berlinetta Boxer and the 308s. 288, F40 and F50 were pininfarina designed and all carried it. The Enzo (the ugliest of the bunch) went under Pininfarina flag, but it was a very japanese design, because its designer was Japanese (a questionable move to this day). The LaFe is the first Ferrari in house design. And that character line is a nod to its past- that signature separation line on so many cars before it.Gavin wrote:can't wait to get one!

I have to say, though...with all the complex lines on this car, I don't really think its was absolutely necessary.
