Maisto is so all over the place when it comes to quality/accuracy, though...I don't know that I'd say its a step backwards. For every awesome model they do (Porsche 550 Spyder, GT Racing series, Carrera GT), they have just as many complete pieces of crap (W211 E-Class, E60 M5)
I don't have the Viper to compare it to (yet)...but this looks worlds better than their recent MB SL's, which look horrid.
It looks on par with their C6 Vettes or 997's...which were pretty decent.

With the movie just around the corner, be sure to keep an eye out for the1:24 Die-cast replica of the NEED FOR SPEED hero car that’s driven by actor Aaron Paul. It’s a custom 2014 Ford Mustang and it just looks awesome!

Re: 2012/2013 Maisto News
For $20 it is fine. But, not everyone can get them that cheap. Here in Australia, Maisto goes for $60. And at that price it is a bad model.Gavin wrote:I know this got shredded on another forum, but I don't think it looks too bad for a Maisto...if you can pick it up for under $20, what's not to like?
And it does need a better version.

Judging from these pictures, it looks great. We just need a 1/18 replica.

blue/white looks great!

If Maisto or Bburago Signature ever upped the ante on their top enough stuff they would snowball the competition.

They already are, unless you think $200 plastic models that should cost $50 are better than $50 diecast models that cost $50. Or perhaps you prefer $125 sealed models that are made from Resin, the cheapest model platform available? I know you started collecting about when I did, (mid 90's), and the only company coming anywhere close to what UT, AA, and Kyosho did at that time, is now ironically Maisto and for the same price no less, just 20+ years further down the line.

They need to get better, refining what they have is key. If they do they will force all other players to rethink there pricing strategy
Re: [2012 - 2016] Maisto | Exclusive News
They are every release is an improvement, stop buying plastic models for $200 if you want companies to change their strategy. Maisto can make models that are better than AA but if collectors still buy AA models that are overpriced and flimsy, than what difference does it make?
