Introduced in 1989, the 964 generation 911 was a big change over the previous generation. Power steering, ABS, all-wheel drive and automatic transmissions were all introduced for the first time on a regular production 911. The 964 was only on the market for 6 years, eventually replaced in 1995 by the 993 generation.
For years, the only 1:18 964 available was the ancient Anson in Coupe, Cabrio and Targa forms. AutoArt released the RS, Welly the Turbo and GT Spirit has offered various sealed 964 models, all within the past 10 years or so. Norev has been on a roll lately with all sorts of interested and generally very well done models. They’ve released numerous colors and wheel options for the 964 in both Coupe and Cabrio form, but for me, I really wanted this model, the base Carrera 2 in Guards Red with the D90 7-spoke wheels.

Re: Norev Porsche 911 (964) Carrera
This was the first Norev I ever purchased as I usually find them underwhelming. Bought one at the recommendation of a friend and I have to say for the money I was very surprised. I am planning to repaint it and fit different wheels and detail the engine. Based on my experience with the 190E, the engine is probably made of 1-2 parts. Basically one plastic plate with colour coding, but it cost me less than half (SHIPPED!) than the average Autoart and that's crazy considering externally it looks (about 95%) just as good
