Just seeing this now, but thanks a lot for the tutorial! I'm going to give the disassemble a try this weekend. With 2 silver GT2s to work on, I figure if I mess up one then I have a second chance, but the goal is to have one good one in the end.
The wheels on the old version are good, but slightly chipping paint. The newer model has good wheels but discolored somehow from the previous owner so maybe I can clean up one set at least.
