Buyer Beware of Sun Star

Post by stevenmweiner » Thu May 27, 2021 8:52 pm

Not long ago, I purchased a 1:18 scale 1931 Ford Model A made by Sun Star. Sometime after I bought it, I noticed that Sun Star had failed to put the advertised hood ornament on it, leaving a small hole on the car. I then contacted Sun Star through their e-mail address provided on the car's box, asking them if there was any way I could get that part. I e-mailed them twice, but they have not had the decency to reply to me at all. This is not to say that in addition to the missing hood ornament and no reply to my two e-mails, the two doors on the car won't stay closed. I will therefore never buy another Sun Star product again. If any of you decide to, "Let the buyer beware."

Where did you buy the model? Did you contact them? This is good starting point...

Sun Star, has been around longer than us, placing this label is somewhat amusing. Also, did you check the box, back panel or underneath? Sometimes the piece is shipped separate from model

yeah...like almost all consumer goods, its usually better to start with the retailer, not the manufacturer.

The reason that I contacted Sun Star rather than the merchant was that I no longer had the receipt from the merchant, unfortunately.

Also, I checked everywhere for the missing hood ornament, and it was nowhere to be found.

Do you have a relation with the existing retailer? I would still touch base.
