David you have a gift, brilliant images. What's the history on the above Porsche?

Livery reminds me of racing Carreras of the 60's (906, 908 etc.) cause it is simple. Numbers and letters over white body.
I don't know the story of this car but reckon it is 959 adapted to circuit.
And of course your photography skills are impressive!

Well, the 961 was initially a Group B project but since they killed it Porsche decided to bring it to Daytona and Le Mans. It finished 7th overall at Le Mans between 956/962 prototypes, great performance.
In 1987, they failed to impress. The car had gearbox issues and finally caught fire.

It races 3 times only, shame.

I'd love to get one of these at some point. Are there other liveries coming? This is classic looking, but I like my newer race cars to have more exciting liveries.
