Really hope we see a cheaper (& opening) 991 GT3RS.

I see Spark have upped the bar on resin undercarriage execution. Their latest effort - 1:18 BMW 2002 turbo Schnitzer Gr 5
Re: [2012 - 2015] Spark News
Looking forward to adding a couple of Spark models in 2015. Despite the "hate" by some collectors for them recently, before OttO or especially GT Spirit, their offering wasn't bad. Of course since the intro of new resin manufacturers, and for some reason their view that increasing prices made sense, their offering seems to provide less value for money to collectors.
That said, and as mentioned above, they have some great subject matter that will surely keep my attention in the New Year!

I still remember my first Spark purchase. It was the Rothmans Group C Porsche. I remember thinking wow this is cheap and the shutlines are so good. So I came home and tried opening the engine cover and to my horror it wouldn't open. So next day I went and returned it. That was my first and last encounter with Spark.

Hahaha this is when I just started collecting, had no idea about anything in the hobby. I didn't even know sealed models existed. I was like are you serious, what's the point? May as well look at photos on the internet.

Jeez I would love to have this one. Looks like a Spark Dealer Edition piece. David are you getting one?

Ordered at my Porsche dealer.

Haha... Tempted too, but I think this will arrive in diecast form from AUTOart soon enough. Can't wait for the photos!David wrote:Ordered at my Porsche dealer.
Re: [2012 - 2015] Spark News
I think the AUTOart will cost as much as the Spark if they release it next year. I meant it ironically but AUTOart's new prices are just insane.
For instance, Modelissimo is selling the Veneno for 285€, 2 weeks before the price was set at 165€.

Yes, but based on history the Porsche marque has been traditionally released under their Performance series which typically costs around $140-$150CND. And we have opening bits and diecast metal.David wrote:I think the AUTOart will cost as much as the Spark if they release it next year. I meant it ironically but AUTOart's new prices are just insane.

Seeing as how 993 models aren't out yet, and there was no hint at 991 models at the toy fair, I would say we are at BEST 18 months away from an AUTOart 991 GT3 RS... IF it comes at all.
