Collected this at my Porsche dealer today.
I always loved the Martini livery, especially when it was combined with silver. I love the idea of offering historic wraps to the 918. On the Spyder, I think the white paint suits the stripes better. I do like the matt black version as well.
Anyway, let's focus on the model...It does look awesome but it is way overpriced. This is not the level of detail you expect from a 240€ model. I'm not surprised though after the release of the "Martini" prototype version. Perhaps, the rather clean look of the car is not helping. On the other hand, the 918 RSR was a far more satisfying model despite the high price tag and the lack of display case. I don't want to be a fanboy, but GT Spirit can pull a model as good for under 100€...
In the end, you must think that I'm crazy to spend that much on something I know it would be overpriced? Yes, absolutely. I just love this specific version on this car. Their silver version isn't that great to consider a purchase, especially with the Minichamps just around the corner. However, I don't expect something exceptional from them.
Hopefully, AUTOart will surprise us soon.

That a great add David. What makes this great hobby to great is the passion behind the hobby. Some of these models speak to us, no matter what the price they are a must have.
I do agree about your comments on how GT Spirit is capable of producing such a high example in resin. They are on par and maybe exceeding Sparks at a fraction of the retail. Kudos to them.

Amazing pics as always
Re: Spark Porsche 918 Spyder Martini Weissach Package - new
These are terrific models, David. I think I will pick up the Spark one. I do like their resin cast models, they are quite detailed and accurately scaled. I have the two 2011 Flying Lizard Porsche 997 GT3 RSR models, and they are very nice.
I have been waiting for the Spark LeMans prototype, but it seems they are taking an eternity to release it.
On another note, I'd like to try your lighting technique. Would you be willing to discuss it with me via PM? I'm going to be ordering a pair of moonlights soon and would like to practice some other lighting techniques. You can reply via PM.
Thanks,
Stephen

great set, David...missed this back in September.
Love the trio pics. I haven't bought a 918 yet...though I'd really like one.
