Porsche 911 (997) GT3 RSR Flying Lizard Le Mans '11 #80-#81

Post by David » Tue Jan 08, 2013 1:14 pm

Those Lizards are definitely my favourite from 2012.

Outstanding job by Spark. All the differences between the 2 specs are here. Of course, the most impressive point is the livery : complex and impressive so is Spark's job when it comes to replicate it. :wow:

The only problem is the tires : they are thick. Consequently, the ride height is a high (no good for a racing car), but it's not shocking though.

It's also interesting to see that collectors can't choose between so they all decided to buy the #80 and the #81 together.

The '07 Le Mans car can't come soon enough !!

Anyway...pics !

Impressive photography skills :okay:
Indeed very smart move by Spark to make people buy both models.
The models are great but I think AutoArt's 997 Racers are better value. They can be had for less and they are die-cast :money: Also if I am not mistaken Spark applies decals while AutoArt applies tampo prints
The shot with three models is my favourite

Cheers chaps !
Yes, AUTOart's 997 RSRs are better value especially the latest versions, they are close to Spark's prices though.
The livery is made with decals and frankly, it's hard to spot the difference. ;)

I'd love to, as I don't have any of the FL cars & this would be a nice place to start. We'll see!

Originally I didn't have this model on my list. But after I have seen your great photos, David, I had to buy at least the orange one.
And it's really a good looking model.

Unfortunatly parts of the model a broken and one tail light is missing, so I have to send it back. But Modelissimo ensures an easy exchange. And with the 10% forum discount it's even better. Thank you Kraftig, thanks Modellissimo ! I appreciate this .

Thanks gents !

@ Gavin : Yes, definitely !
@ Christian : I'm glad I helped out !
Sorry to hear that. That's a common issue with Spark, QC are not their strength.
@ Twenty3 : Kudos to Troy Lee, he knows how to sublimate the 911 lines.
