Hey all, some of the old timers here may remember me from years ago. Long story short, I joined this forum fairly early on, but took a 6 year hiatus from the hobby and there were good reasons for that. Two that are worth mentioning: one was career related and the other not so much; I got into the classic German automobiles, namely the brand with the 3 pointed star. Initially I bought a red 1979 450SEL that I sold a few years back because it was the North American spec (long bumpers and crappy DOT lights), I "upgraded" to a Euro look brown 1977 450SEL that I sourced in California in 2014 - this is still with me. It is a W116 with the 4.5L V8 (sadly not the massive 6.9) and I still have a few things to sort out, but it is a driving car.
Then an opportunity to buy a full Euro Spec, non-catalyzed C126 came along and had to have it (in late 2017). 1988 560SEC. Low mileage, rare (here) and with a velour interior, it is staying with me.
The 1/1s are definitely staying, but so is my 1/18 collection. I finally managed to display them and believe it or not it is the first time since I started collecting, when I see them all together and out of the boxes - this made me revisit old forums, read the news and check some of the new releases. I will post some pics and details in the members collections area soon.
Cheers!
Florin
Not realy new, but back in the hobby

Hey Florin, welcome back. A lot has changed in 6 years. Educate and pace your purchases as you already know this hobby is like cocaine. Love the 560 SEC, so European!
