Classic Carlectables 1978 Ford Falcon (XC) Cobra #1

Post by Gavin » Tue May 06, 2014 3:13 pm

driven by Ickx/Moffat at the 1978 Bathurst 1000...DNF.

Just snapping some newer pics, I bought this model off a collector buddy a number of years ago, shortly after CC announced they would stop exporting their Ford models to North America. I had planned on getting the #2 car new from Scale18 ( ), but talked my buddy into selling me this #1 car instead. A stunning model, In my opinion, loaded with details, typical of the CC brand (Holden Efigy excluded...sorry KRAFTIG! ;) )

None take :D

These guys surely makes some memorable pieces. The detail on this model is outstanding, I personally love the sprint loaded hinges and front headlights cover. Truly awesome!

That looks friggin awesome. My only regret is that being in Canada, I have no connection to Aussie motorsport. I don't wanna buy models without knowing the history behind them, although I'm very tempted. At the same time, I have no idea where I can find out more. There are no books or anything around here on the subject.

Thanks guys.

Stratos...I have zero connection to Aussie motorsport either, I just loved the way this model looked. I have a handful of the newer SuperV8 cars as well. They're all great models, but this XC Falcon is my favorite. They're worth adding if you're even the smallest racing fan.

Oh that's reason enough haha. I'll be adding one from each generation for sure.

Allan Moffat, Aussie motorsport legend, is Canadian if I am not mistaken. So here's the connection. :okay:

This Falcon XC is amazing. I think XA / XB / XC is my favourite muscle car. Beautiful shape.
I have one model by Carlectables I love it to bits.

I'm convinced. I already have a few Aussie V8 racecars on my wish list. I think I'll be expanding it a bit.

Stratos...I'll add some new Super V8 threads in this section shortly for your perusal. :okay:

Can't go wrong with any of them, but for me, the Commodore VK is a close 2nd to my XC Falcon.

Yep that one's on my list already. I'll be getting the tobacco decals for it too
