New 1/12 Porsche 911 Turbo RSR 2.1 ?

Hi Guys ,
Does anyone know what the story is on the new 1/12 Porsche issued Martini Turbo RSR 2.1 is ? I have seen 2 for sale neither of which I was able to purchase . I'm being told there has been a distribution issue or limited availability even though the model was made in a run of 300 pieces . I can't think of any of these models that sold out instantly so something must be going on . My local Porsche dealer whom I have a very good relationship with has no information either other than to say it's a Europe only issue much like the '18 Pink Pig RSR was at least initially . Anyone have any info on these ?

One was advertised in Europe and one was on e-bay - both said they didn't expect to get more . It never seems easy for Porsche to sell 300 $1000+ models ( witness the '18 Pink Pig , Record 919 or the new Speedster ) so there is something going on here . Maybe the bulk of the production was lost / destroyed in transit with few getting delivered . It doesn't show up on the Porsche AG Drivers Selection models page either . I'm keeping an ear to the ground as this is one of my favorite cars and already have the 1/18 Autoart dealer edition and the 1/43 Make Up version.

Also - I did ask Christoph if he was getting them and he hadn't heard about it either . He has had other dealer editions including the 1/8 Amalgam models at a good price .

Strange. Did the auction have the model #? You can use that with the Porsche dealership to search their database.

The Porsche dealer here did a search as did one of the largest on-line Porsche parts sellers ( Suncoast ) and neither was able to find anything . I checked with a Porsche dealer in both the UK and Germany - neither was able to find any reference . The only other thing that comes to mind is some sort of system whereby most favored customers are being given '' allocations '' on the models much like what happened to me when I ordered my GT3RS back in '16 . It would be taking things to another level of craziness , but with Porsche nothing surprises me anymore .

Learned that there was a separate run ( another 300 ? ) with ''finish line '' weathering . They may have done the team car #21 as well , but was that included in the original 300 piece run ? - don't know . What I saw was the '74 LM #22 . It could be that a year from now Spark releases them without the case and number plaque .

Yes, most likely these were developed by Sparks. However, look out for fakes, good luck in your quest!

How did you receive confirmation? Spark?

One was for sale on e-bay Germany and the seller had pics . He told me he wouldn't ship to the States and shortly after it was sold .

Also - contacted the Museum ( surprised they responded ) and they told me that it was sold out - and that they don't ship the large models anyway due to fear of damage .
