1/18 scale Porsche 934 Turbo RSR from Schuco. I had an Exoto version in orange before this and regret selling it, but this Schuco is not a bad replacement for the price with all opening parts. Plus, I like this blue better.

Looks good. I'm still holding on to my Exoto example. How is the Shcucco overall?

For the price I won't complain too much about the Schuco version of the car, but it's definitely not the same level of quality as the Exoto, of course. My model has misaligned panels, the hood doesn't sit flush, the rear light is falling off and the front wheels seem a little wonky, but honesty not bad overall. :okay:

I believe there was a discount, I paid slightly less than what the current CK price is for the model.

Based on what I see it's currently 99 Euro my price after VAT 76 Euros, a steal. I'm just wondering if this "new" price is reflective of models from Schuco that did not meet the QC standards and sold at a discount.

Entirely possible, but I've not had enough Schuco models before this one to comment on their usual quality, but at the end of the day I will take a fully opening model with some issues (most of which are fixable on mine) over a sealed resin model which costs more.

Now that's unusual. What's the history behind it?

It is kind of unusual looking, isn't it? Nowhere near as gorgeous as its predecessor, the 917 or its successor, the 956, but still something very cool about it.

The 936 was released in 1975 & won Le Mans in 1976, 1977 & 1981. TSM did the '77 cars (fully opening & incredibly detailed), Solido has done the '78 & '81 cars (sealed, but VERY good for the price, In my opinion). They were powered by the 930's Turbo Flat-6.

ST Well Audi Audi RS6 (C7) - Blue

Though I have the Minichamps version of this one, extending the access to the all-four doors, and the added detail of upper storage and retirement to engine and interior are definitely a plus. Not bad for $176 CND either!

PS - I ordered 3, anyone interested in one send me a note.
