Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
Latest addition is this bad boy. I love the stealthy look with the grey paint and wheels!!

Nice! Do want!
Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
I finally pulled the trigger on this one. I got the new CMC Ferrari 250 GTO in red. I payed a little more than I would have liked, and I am kicking myself for not getting one sooner, when the prices were more....reasonable. Nonetheless, I don't think I have been this excited about a model arriving in a long time.

My Florida hookup is securing about 60 Hotwheels Elites including rare stuff like the red Dino, 288GTO, solid Red F40 Competition, Maserati MC12 and others. I hope to snag them and others for cheap

Thanks, Davide. I'm not afraid of those bricks at all. As long as OTTO and GT Spirit keep cranking out great modern and classic German cars around $100 USD, I'll keep buying them. Despite the lack of opening features, I'm quite happy with them.
Excellent additions, everyone. That GTO is breahtakingly beautiful, just like the real thing. The Singer Porsche is a must-have for me. I also hope to buy the Tesla Model S, but I cannot decide on the color I want just yet.

I'm not either, I'm just a little depressed that the hobby is moving in this direction. Resin was just a niche alternative, now its mainstream. GTS and OttO are good for this hobby don't get me wrong. It's the bigger players that are moving down this path and retailing them for 2-3 more. For crying out loud you should have solid game plan and efficiencies based on your tender to get models priced right. How does GTS and OttO do it?Autobahn wrote:Thanks, KRAFTIG. BTW I just received the TopSpeed McLaren 675LT, very impressive. Review to come!

Nice! What do you think of it? A friend just got one and noticed the ride height at the front was a bit high, but otherwise a really nice model![KRAFTIG] wrote: Yes!

Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
Good question. GTS and OTTO make up for what they lack in opening features and the 'Wow!' factor by putting as many details as possible into the interiors of their models, getting the wheels and stance 'just right', and in most cases, with precise fit and finish. Meanwhile, Kyosho and Minichamps have the gall to offer less and charge MUCH more. I'm happy with my resin models, but like you, I'm dismayed by the current direction of the hobby overall.[KRAFTIG] wrote: I'm not either, I'm just a little depressed that the hobby is moving in this direction. I'll look forward to your TopSpeed McLaren 675LT review. I'm finally warming up to McLarens, so I'm looking forward to getting one of these.

My latest score from our friends at Toronto Motorsports:
TWR WSC-95 in 1:43 by Spark.
This Porsche won Le Mans in 1996 and 1997.
In 1997 this car was driven by Michele Alboreto, Stefan Johansson and Le Mans rookie Tom Kristensen.
This was the 1st of 9 wins for Kristensen.
