Hmm, I should keep this in mind before ordering from CK. Surely there must be good scale model distributors in North America? I just don't know of any.
There are many, check the SPONSORS link above.
Thank you, that's good info. I guess I always assumed CK was the best so I never really considered anywhere else.

So the CK package arrived a lot sooner than anticipated. About 2.5 weeks from the 6-8 weeks they quoted! Now let's hope they survived the journey!

2.5 weeks only by boat? You make me re-think my decision to hold for air shipment. Will wait to see if no damages.

Looks like the assortment is safe, however, some models aren't mine so I haven't looked inside each box :fingercrossed:

Do it! Like I said it took 2.5 weeks from the 6-8 they initially stated.

Same for me, just over 2 weeks from Germany. I suspect they still use air freight when available but just don't want to commit to it because there are fewer planes.

I suspect your right. CK just needs to be honest with customers from the get-go. I understand there are delays but hell...

I have (um 33 x 1/18 cars and Trucks) on the way to me at the moment and delivery times are slow, because of Coronavirus restrictions and countries with closed borders - I'm in Australia in a State which never got Coronavirus amongst us and our borders are closed to all other States and overseas, which makes deliveries even slower, but they do arrive eventually.

One upside, is that I buy all of my cars through eBay and I am covered by their 100% money refund, if a car arrives broken and is unacceptable to me, or if for some reason, the car never arrives at all (which has happened in the past). Several cars I purchased recently, the sellers refused to post them to me, because postage rates had gone up from what they originally quoted and they would not carry the extra cost. eBay rely on the seller getting postage costs correct at point of sale and they won't allow buyers to make extra payments to cover extra postage costs, after a sale is processed and paid for, because it is against their policy to do that.

On the point of postage increases, especially from Europe, carriers have increased postage costs by 100%, just like that, because of Coronavirus restrictions and sellers have not kept up with postage increases and they cancel paid orders and refund 100%, but that's not the point, it is not about the money, it is about getting the car I purchased and when it falls through, through no fault of my own, it is so frustrating - so be warned - if you are a seller - and check and adjust postage rates, when necessary.

Speaking for myself, it is interesting to have so many cars between hither and yon, with no expectation of any arriving any time soon - however, I have noticed a rapid reduction in eBay sales of cars and prices have tended to come down, which makes buying online a much better opportunity, bearing in mind that A$ are worth a lot less than US$, Pounds Sterling and Euros, so I have to play smart, because I cannot afford to bid, to win the model, like those more fortunate than me do.

Congrats, so it finally arrived. I remember when my package arrived a month ago, I normally give it a gentle shake before opening the package. If I can hear a rattle even very faint, it means something is damaged or broken. Surprise, surprise the gt1 that I ordered had its wing broken off.
