1/18 vs. 1/24 / New collector

Post by C21 » Sat Mar 20, 2021 1:33 pm

Hi I am new to diecast models an have two models. One is a 1/18 Bburago Porsche 911 carrera. The other is a 1/24 Welly Porsche GT3RS. I like the size of both scales an that the doors bonnet/hood and boot/trunk open.

My plan is to pick a manufacturer an than model an collect the evolution of that model. Starting with the iconic Volkswagen Golf.

So my question is. On a budget of £15 - £50 (mabey slightly more) which sacal would be best for quality affordability and an availability.

If use could recommend brands and sellers that would be great.

There isn't much available in 1:24 so I suggest move to 1:43. The assortment is vast, and pricing is someone more reasonable when on a defined budget. Otherwise, budget brands in 1:18 scale are Solido, Norev, OttOmobile.

Sometimes you need to reevaluate priorities... In my opinion it is better to have one nicely executed model than 2 or 3 average pieces. Food for thought. Read the news articles and reviews, educate!
