So you know the typical black screws which ship with AUTOart models and other brands. WHERE CAN I BUY THEM? :deal:

your local hardware store should have pretty much any size screw you need. I know that Lowe's has this screw size chart, so bring one with you to find the exact size you need.

Thanks Gavin. I've tried HD, nothing. I'll give Lowes a shot this weekend.

I can bring you some next time I see you if you don't need them immediately...I think I have a couple kicking around somewhere.

Thanks Dennis, but I would require hundreds... I want to elevate my models off the glass surface... 350 x 4 = 1400 :)

Ah I see what you are doing. Have you considered getting some 1cm x 1cm dowels or something from Michaels and just cutting them down to size? You'd probably have to paint them black. Not sure which one would be more cost effective.

**EDIT:

If you haven't already found out, the Rona in Woodbridge is closing (I think) so everything is on clearance. I think hardware including nuts and bolts is 40% off so might be a good time to pick some up if it's not already all gone. I just spent $500 on the weekend at the Rona closing in London on random nick nacks for my house.

The dowel method is a good idea BUT I want something I can screw in place to easily slide models in and out. I'll give Rona a try too, thanks.

I'm so surprised someone within the industry hasn't come up with a method to do what I'm purposing. Maybe we should and market it ;)

It could be something you can establish under the DS brand. All you would need is a 3D printer too! You already have the moulds (screws and the black brace piece if you want to make that too). I guess you would have to get the design into CAD.

Ha ha... I'll talk to my buddy John, he's a CAD nut!
