MY last HOLY GRAIL, what is YOURS?
MY last HOLY GRAIL, what is YOURS?
My last HOLY GRAIL was finally added to my collection this month, I've been hunting this beast down for as long as I can remember. It may not appeal to the masses, and it may not be the best executed diecast manufactured today, BUT I don't care, this one means something special to me. That's all that matters. So what's the name of this holy grail I speak of, well it is the 1:18 scale limited edition piece by Classic Carlectables, the Holden Efijy Concept!
In celebration I'm starting a small contest of sorts. Share your story of your HOLLY GRAIL, or your search for your prize. The top five stories will receive a FREE pair of DiecastSociety.com decals. GOOD LUCK!

I have too many of them, mostly Exotos. The Le Mans winning #63 Sauber C9, the #1 GT40 MKIV, the #2 GT40 MKII, the Sunoco 917 which was driven by Donohue, I can honestly go on and on.

Are they really the "holly grails" that would make you and your collection complete? Do you loose sleep at night because these models aren't in your possession?StratosWRC wrote:I have too many of them, mostly Exotos. Re: ** CONTEST: My last HOLY GRAIL, what is YOURS? **
To come back to this thread, here are my holy grails. Whenever I'm not doing anything important, I'm usually scanning ebay for these.
Minichamps Porsche 917 Pink Pig
Exoto Porsche 917 Can Am, driven by Mark Donohue
Minichamps Porsche 904 #35 Le Mans - this one is super rare. Rarely ever comes up even on ebay
There are many more models I want very badly, but I'd say these are my holiest of grails.

I understand these are your holy grails, BUT what is the story behind each or at one, the thrill of the chase to find that elusive model?

Nothing inspirational I guess haha. Just that I want them and they're always out of bloody reach
Re: ** CONTEST: My last HOLY GRAIL, what is YOURS? **
No big story, but my current holy grail is the Autoart Grand Turismo carbon-fibre Ford GT. Some day it will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.......
I was lucky enough to pick up the white version for a good price on ebay a few months ago, but the black versions go for silly money! I had a black one on pre-order from Grand Prix Legends for over 4 years, but ran out of patience and cancelled the order.
Not for the first time, Autoart have failed to complete the second production run of a model.

They are still marked as TBA, so don't give up hope just yet.

Ya doesn't give up hope. They are reproducing the Porsche Carrera GT in all the popular colours - specifically the white. So I believe this was roughly around the same time period the Ford GT was released.StratosWRC wrote:They are still marked as TBA, so don't give up hope just yet.

Fingers crossed!

My white unicorn (or at my Blue/ceramic white unicorn)/Holy Grail would be a Diecast-NOT Resin 1:18 Bugatti Veyron L'or Blanc
I saw somebody made a 1:43 at some point, so I'm hopeful one day the AutoArt gang will take a chunk out of my wallet for this special car.

My holy grail was the 2003 Valentino Rossi Austin Powers bike. I was always searching on e-bay to purchase this bike at a reasonable price... one day it showed up being sold by someone from France. Without second thoughts... I clicked on the buy it now button before someone else snatch it away from me. This is the most expensive diecast I've ever bought... more expensive than current Autoart Signature prices but it was money well spent.
