Hello everyone,

Wonder how you display the diecasts in the crystal case?

Sponge below?
Acrylic plates under the tyre?

Thanks

I'm currently not using any additional material. Models are resting on the tires.

Serious? Won't it like "melt" the Tyres?

I've had no issues.

I've only heard of that with TSM's Tyrrell P34

I think this only happens (at least with my experience) with cheaper maisto/bburago etc models that traditionally use a plastic compound for tires. They do seem to "melt" and leave a residue on the base. I have never had this happen with any AAs or other higher end models that use rubber.

I remember seeing a write up or technical explaination on this, but dont remember what it said.

All my models 1:18 are encased in AUTOart acrylic cases. They are screwed on the bases and I placed spacers under the models to avoid the tires from touching the bases. That is to prevent problems like tire flat spots and rubber-plastic reaction.

Here's a (not-updated) picture of my display...

Actually when I put my R34 Skyline onto its base, the tires instantly left greasy marks.

I have a spare MR Collection Alcantara Base+Case so I placed my SLR in there for fun.
