I think you can put the English version when you install the software .You can made wish list and you can sort by brand or model as you wish an you can put your collection on a website after all is done , if you want to sold your collection and it's on a web site , the customer just have to look and chose what he want......very good software

No not really, no time :( Plus I don't want to deal with 300+ models and data. I will continue to use Die cast Database for now.

Thanks for sending me the info about the software!
Before I go ahead and install it, do any of you guys see an advantage of this sort of thing over a simple MS Excel spreadsheet to store info about my collection? I can easily create PivotTables and various charts/graphs off the entered info should I need to, so is a dedicated piece of software necessary in your eyes? TIA

I'm slightly OCD so I like the clean cut straight forward look of the software. Updating and modifying listing is easy too - keep track of sold and future purchases are added elements as well. The added photo catalog is a nice added feature too. And plus its free! The heard part was entering all the information, though I don't utilize all fields.

I'm also pretty OCD lol. Where is the database stored? What happens, if for example, my hard drive fails and I lose the data? At the moment I have an Excel spreadsheet saved in my Dropbox so its always safe and always accessible, if need be

Hidden files on the primary drive. The instructions will show you where to find and backup files, not tricky at all. I've reloaded the software three times without incident.

I gave the one from Douglas a go....I like the fact that you can create a self hosted website from your library, which is pretty cool. Ultimately, I've just stuck with my good ol' Excel spreadsheet and spent the last couple of hours adding more layers of data and refinement to it, along with some pivot tables for some easy viewing of data breakdown. It would just be hassle to add in my existing data into a new program.
I also tried using the program you recommended, GP246, but I just couldn't get it to create a collection even after a bit of messing about.

Thanks for all your help anyway, guys!
