I have! No duties though. It is a hot or miss with duties, just got tagged for $36US for a x-border purchase. Tell them to lower the value of the shipment, but it is gets, lost or damage you suffer the loss in value.

All depends on what the seller declares the value to be. Obviously the lower the declared value, the lower the fees.

They usually put the amount i spent , will ask them if they can lower the value and see what happens on the next order

The two big German retailers can indicate 50% of the value if you ask. Other shop can do it lower and the goal in to be under 50 CAD

According to the clause by Indian Customs Board, scale replicas -working or non-working gets categorized under section "Toys" and the limit for duty free import in 10kINR ~150USD and also the taxes are less for the ones exceeding (only for this section). I always ask the sellers to mention as 'Toys - Scale model' in the invoice.

They said the same with me, I was hit with $130+ in duties. I would recommend trying to get the models locally if that is a possibility. There are many Canadian stores and online shops as well as CK and Modelissimo tho offer great discounts to DS members!

$130? Buying what though?

I was charged about $44 for $870 worth of purchases as carmodelz one time, and $99 for $940 worth at modelissimo.

18.5% seems about right. I got hit with I think $60 on a $500 order. You gotta make sure you ask the seller to declare a low value. That's the only thing that works. Gone are the days where they'd be too busy to go through all packages and you'd get yours without duties. I haven't had a duty free package in ages.

I haven't gotten a package with duties since last December. Then again, every other place I shopped at were private sellers and not web stores.
