Very excited for this car! It appears to be a winner so far. I have a friend who's getting his redone in Alpine White and mine will be getting the same treatment when it gets here.

Great pics, thanks for sharing. Such a beautiful little M3. Why did it take soooo long for 1:18 scale to appear. I believe many manufactures missed a good opportunity to cash in on the excitement here. Could be my my favorite model of 2014

Looking forward to seeing that custom, Dennis...the only 1:1's I've seen have been in Alpine White & black. The white is awesome!Kwando wrote:Very excited for this car! I've removed the silly M stripes. AW lines are much better now, I like it a lot.

I wouldn't say the decals are silly as there is a lot of heritage in them, though like you, I appreciate the cleaner look. Also you may be interested in this exclusive piece:

I see silly M-stripes in your avatar. I would have kept them.

I do like Safety car M stripes, but the one from M performance parts aren't that nice. Also 1:1 looks to, well, aftermarket, I preffered more cleaner look
Minichamp's safety car will be interesting, I'll keep those stripes

Thinking about buying this model. It's purdy, and the Minichamps one is not worth the premium IMHO... What do you think?
Re: 2011 BMW 1M E82 Coupe (GT Spirit, Limited to 2000pcs)
For me I always want a diecast version. I bought the GTS first as it was the first to market. It is very well executed, better than the Minichamps In my opinion, though just slightly. The Minichamps model is an EPIC fail because there is no access to the motor or rear boot. If Norev can do a decent (opening bits) job for less why can't Minichamps?keyboard wrote:Thinking about buying this model. It's purdy, and the Minichamps one is not worth the premium IMHO... I've never bought a resin model before so this is a new world to me. Of course I'm all for die casts.[KRAFTIG] wrote:For me I always want a diecast version. The not opening hood and trunk are an epic fail at the price level indeed, as well as the poorly executed headlights and taillights... If it was cheaper, I'd buy it. You can get it customized (kidneys, wheels, splitters and spoilers, etc.) to your likings which is nice for sure. However, there's an old Kyosho 135i model and the details on it are much better.

I was thinking the same on the Kysoho 135i at one point in time too. It took forever for the 1M Coupe to come out. Here's my review on the GTS 1M Coupe:keyboard wrote:I've never bought a resin model before so this is a new world to me. Its a shame that Kyosho never did the 1M while they had the BMW license. I got the Kyosho 135i shortly before either 1M came out & swapped on some E92 Sport rims....makes a HUGE difference. And the details & much better than GTS or Otto, In my opinion.keyboard wrote:[KRAFTIG] wrote:However, there's an old Kyosho 135i model and the details on it are much better.
