CMC New Ferrari 1962 250 GTO!!!

Holy schnikes! One of the most iconic cars of all time is being replicated by the fine craftsmen at CMC. The Ferrari 1962 250 GTO is scheduled to be delivered soon, and based on photos that seems to be true. Fours colours will be issued, Silver, Blue, Yellow, and Red. The 250 GTO features hand-crafted metal parts with a left-hand drive, and built from 1841 single parts, of which 1215 are made of metal. Out standing! More from CMC below.

This is both great and sad news. I could get two Zonda R's for that price but, it's beautiful!

interested to see how these sell...especially the non-red ones.

Not that I'd ever buy one, but I'm 100% happy with Kyosho's.

That's my dilemma, I'm more than happy with the Kyosho piece too. Is it worth the $500 price tag?

Umm...

YES!

I was never happy with the Kyosho version. The shape is nicer than the CMC but the detail was lacking. If Exoto ever release their 250 GTO, I'll sell this for that. But otherwise it's a no-brainer.

Wow this unexpected news since it was said that CMC is stopping Ferraris...
Shape seems very good and the details are standard for CMC, I have several Kyosho, but I'll order the red GTO!!
Don't know about the other colours..., would be better to make race versions than multiple colours

Toronto Motorsports just announced pricing, pre-order is $579. Potentially this model could cost $654 taxes in. A little to rich for my blood. I'll wait for Wes to sell his :D

A bit steep, true. But in a world of 300-400 euros AUTOarts... why not? After all Kyosho is asking 220 euros for their latest version. I wonder which chassis number is this reproduction most faithful to. Seems close to the Ralph Lauren 250 GTO (only in red, of course). It would be his second car (after the Atlantic) made by CMC.

Kyosho may still be the real deal based on the exterior. Checkout the thread here:

This was definitely news for me! I had no idea CMC was cooking this up. I think overall profile looks pretty good. Nose looks bit high and doesn't have beautiful continuous slop as the real car ,but still it looks awesome!

Here's quick comparison picture with real car.

Thanks for posting the comparo, kickinoutyo....I thought something looked way off from the first pic I saw. The Kyosho's detail may be lacking compared to this CMC, but the shape looks much more correct to me.
