Wes' Collection - Leaving the diecast hobby...

Post by StratosWRC » Sun Dec 22, 2013 12:43 am

My rules:

Model must be very detailed and one that I actually like. Although I do have many models from CMC, there are also a few that I don't have because I don't like them or the detail is kind of dated. I also don't collect anything that doesn't have opening parts. Closed models are strictly forbidden, and even F1 cars with parts that don't open, like Exoto's single-seaters, are not welcome. I prefer metal, but if a fully detailed resin model is ever made, I will add it. I do make exceptions for models that are just too irresistible to me. For example, Autoart's XJ13 is an old model and the detail is very plasticky, but it is extremely solid, the body is fully metal, nicely riveted and louvred and looks 100% authentic. Here is the breakdown so far:

Total: 90

Autoart/Biante – 31
CMC – 22
Exoto – 15
TSM – 7
GMP – 5
Hot Wheels Elite – 3
BBR – 2
Schuco - 2
Bauer – 2
Auto Tuning -1

Most of these aren't new. I just decided to take pics of each model in detail, rather than in bulk. One can never get tired of showing his collection lol. But thank you!

It is a nice model but I wouldn't want it for ethic reasons.
Though I would love AutoArt to make Ecurie Ecosse Le Mans winning Jag.

Never really thought about that, but now that I am, I suppose you're right.

And yes, the Ecurie Jag was painted in such a pretty shade of blue. Too bad the Exoto is so expensive.

Me neither, but the model is a very nice piece. I like models of hypercars.
