Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
Thanks! I am no muscle car guy either (although it could be said that the old Nissans are Asian muscle cars) and dont have a single one in my collection right now. Sold my Autoart Shelby GT500 a while ago. But this car always called at me from the bottom of my want list, lol.
I might mess around with the engine a bit.
The engine looks good as is, but what makes me want a model is often that they look like real cars. And that is almost always - disregarding obvious budget brands - down to wheels and stance. On this Autoart really nailed it I think, something they often mess up.

Classic Carlectables also made Chargers from this era, as they are Aussie models. The N.A. Chargers were very different.[KRAFTIG] wrote:No, AUTOart!

Hey, let me know if you're interested in the Looksmart 1:43 I just reviewed.Lucky13 wrote:I ordered mine in Giallo Tristrati, because that's the color the car was first introduced. It was either that or Red for me.
Now I'm waiting for the F60 to come out.

So after a ridiculous amount of internal debate:
Mazda RX-7 (FD3S) by Ignition, 1:18
Yes she is resin.
Yes she has no opening parts.
Yes she is expensive.
But... she is absolutely beautiful!

Trust me, I've had many debates in my head about ignition models. They're just perfection and I love the subject matter. But the price shipped to canada makes them really not worth it.

I certainly can't argue with your logic.StratosWRC wrote:Trust me, I've had many debates in my head about ignition models. They're just perfection and I love the subject matter. But the price shipped to canada makes them really not worth it.
For me, this is one of those very few cars I chose to put on a pedestal. Always thinking that when the right model comes along I'll know it when I see it.
So when I saw this model it was "love at first sight".
Not logical at all but....she's beautiful!!!

How much are these Ignition models? I have no familiarity with them at all. Looks good, but the Autoart models were pretty sharp too I thought.

Hi Josh, I got the last one from unusual43.Josh wrote:How much are these Ignition models? I have no familiarity with them at all. Looks good, but the Autoart models were pretty sharp too I thought.
Price was originally $270 US, went on sale for $230 US so I took the plunge. Like I said, expensive.
If you like this Mazda, they had the white Spirit with the nice beefy 5 spoke rims and the red Recaros on sale at the same time for $198 US.
Have to say that the service was excellent. Zoe @ unusual43 responded promptly to my many emails.
I ordered it on a Thursday evening, it was shipped out and received by the airline on the following Friday and according to Canada Post tracking, received by Customs Canada Monday morning at which point it sits for the entire week in Richmond.
I'm so glad the seller shipped quickly as it was began to dawn on me that my model might actually get caught in the looming postal strike. Received it Thursday morning.
