[HSM] MB SL65 AMG Black Series
Re: [AOS HSM] - Minichamps BMW 320i Gr.5 Art Car
Love this model...though any of the liveries work for me.
Re: [AOS HSM] - Spark Aston Martin Vantage GT3 VLT Livery
Very nice. The ex-Craft Bamboo Aston Martins have also found a new home, racing in Australian GT. Pretty sure one them is still in this livery too.

Oh you know... only took just over 8 months to finally produce photos.

Great pics, nice car. Please share your camera setting and lighting methods.

Thanks!Kwando wrote:Awesome pics! Mind sharing what your set up looks like?
Setup is not high end by any means.
Get yourself a large room/ open space. I used my basement. If you don't use your garage as a storage room, you could probably use that too.
Next, get yourself some large flat surface.... or just use a table. I used a large board that is actually a quarter section of my ex-ping pong table.
Next, get yourself a large piece of fabric. I used what is known as "Barcelona Knit" from Fabricland. It's extremely flexible and stretchy. It stays flat and forms around edges very easily. Use whatever material in whatever colour/texture you like though. I chose white because it reflects light well enough to light up the bottom half of the car, and it doesn't put any external colours in the reflected image on the body.
Lastly, get yourself a light source. Use something bright if you don't have a camera that can change shutter speed or ISO. I prefer to use fluorescent tubes or LED flashlights for photographing model cars. For these photos I'm using a shop lamp from Costco ($50). If you're using one of these, you'll need to find a way to suspend it above the car, or else you'll have to expend one of your hands to hold it up.
As for the camera, get one that can control shutter speed, aperture and ISO. I just set the white balance to either AUTO or Tungsten (honestly depends on the colour temperature of your light source), and prioritize setting the aperture, then ISO and shutter speed. What I'm looking to do is to keep the closest part of the car in focus, and I want the edge of the table (where the white floor meets the black space in the back) to be as much of a blur as possible. When that edge is blurred out, it doesn't steal your attention away from the car.
I also post-edit on Photoshop. I mainly do a light sharpen filter, remove any noticeable specks of dust, and edit the colour balance (increasing the blues where its dark and increasing the reds and yellows where it is white). I notice this makes the object pop with warm lighting, while retaining the coolness of a metal object. Lastly, the photos I share are drastically smaller in resolution so all the details appear even sharper.
If you want a pic, you'll find a picture of the setup in this crummy website I made for an assignment:

The setup has the backdrop propped up, and that's only to take pictures with a background:

Just beautiful

I'm not super attached to all model cars.StratosWRC wrote:Omg why would you sell this lol
I also happen to not be super attached to a Birdcage. I only have this because HAROMASTER had it up for offers and I have impulse buying problems. Similar case with your XJR-9! I'll probably sell that one too eventually.
I'm still aiming for the D-Type, and perhaps the combined values of said two models would help pay it off.
