Is it just me or has Minichamps really given up?
My friend had some extra cars he ordered from CK. They are selling Focus STs for silly cheap so I grabbed one from him.
I think full MSRP is $129 or so. I had no idea how lame this thing is. No metal rotors, no flocked carpet, hard-shiny tires, no rear opening doors, no hatch opening, and no hood opening! How am I supposed to celebrate diecast over resin when you get a car like this. My $79 MSRP Otto RS shames the Minichamps offering.

They gave up years ago, truly a shame; were my favorite once too
Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
Minichamps kept digging their death hole bigger and bigger with each new release. Literally the last good model I bought from them was the 991 Turbo S.. and before that, the SL65 AMG Black Series.. and neither were on top of the game per se in their respected price ranges.JamesonsViggen wrote:Is it just me or has Minichamps really given up?

Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
Fully agreed. It's getting worse and worse. Cheaper choice in materials, less opening bits, cost cutting everywhere.
I recently purchased some older Minichamps, which make me feel even more sad about today's efforts.
My latest buy is also a minichamps. Found it new in box, although it must be at least 10 years old, maybe more.
It's very heavy, fully opening and fully carpeted.

Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
Let's try this again: Hennessey Venom GT by AUTOart (got a new one from a different seller).
Still need to deal with the tie-down wire, but otherwise it's in great shape. The previous seller accepted my return and issued a refund. Also, it looks like you're supposed to help the spoiler up; it doesn't fully extend at the push of a button as it does on the Veyron or 918.
EDIT: Here is the engine, from a better angle, with better light, in a nice, big resolution, and without the wire. As Kraftig said, it's really nice.

3 3.0 911s! My first cars with liveries, from left to right a 3.0 SC African Safari 911 from Spark, 3.0 RSR from Spark (because the non-livery version is damn near impossible to find) and a 3.0 SC RS from Otto. I'll have to get some better pictures soon.
