Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
Not a cup of tea that is sipped on too much here on this forum, but I went on a 1/24 Danbury Mint spree over the last two weeks.
1969 Camaro SS (dusk blue metallic)
1969 Dodge Daytona (white/red wing)
1968 Road Runner 383 (silver/black top)
1970 HEMI Cuda convertible (vitamin C orange/black top)
1969 Plymouth GTX (red/black stripes)
Obviously DM is no longer producing diecast, and certain models (naturally the ones I'm interested in) have skyrocketed in value. SHOCKING to realize they used to produce these for 129$. Better quality/weight/materials/detail than most out there today.
These go on the top half of my 26' long wall which is 1/24 mostly muscle, while the bottom half is my 1/18.

HAHA I know, I'm being too lazy. I will get some. When will we live in a time where inserting a pic[s] is as easy as drag and drop from your photos on your device, rather than logging into a photo site, uploading your photos, then referencing the link in order to show the photo.[KRAFTIG] wrote:Where are the photos?!?
I sound like I'm 60, but I'm not.

Yes, it's the Hotwheels Elite. Was on my list long time as well. Now I've got it, I must say it's far from Hotwheels' best production. It's not as crisp and fine as some of them. I think it's not worth that much either, but they are becoming more expensive.

Is this the LaFerrari? Yes, definitely agree!Marcel171281 wrote:Yes, it's the Hotwheels Elite. Was on my list long time as well. Now I've got it, I must say it's far from Hotwheels' best production. Yeah I have one but most definitely not worth the $150+ USD it's asking nowadays.[KRAFTIG] wrote:Is this the LaFerrari? Yes, definitely agree!Marcel171281 wrote:Yes, it's the Hotwheels Elite. Not only the quality control. I didn't have any of those issues. It more like they developed it with this in mind: 'It's a LaFerrari, so let do cost cutting, it will sell anyway'. Things like panel gaps, choice in materials etc. But there is no alternative, apart from the BBurago signature. I've only seen photo's from that model, but it looks like it's not far off, for maybe half the price.HY90 wrote:Yeah I have one but most definitely not worth the $150+ USD it's asking nowadays.[KRAFTIG] wrote:Is this the LaFerrari? Nice addition, guys!

Yes. The writing was on the wall, the end was near for Hot Wheels Elite. I do miss them, better than the low-end examples from BBruago we see today.Marcel171281 wrote:Not only the quality control.
