Let's continue this thread, seeing it hasn't been touched in more than half a year.
The Hot Wheels Elite FF is meticulously detailed, putting a few AutoArts to shame, with all the photoetched decals and meshed grills.
Model can definitely still be found for under $70. Mine was a bid and only costed me 40.. for that price, you'd HAVE to get one.

I'm more hooked on the American Muscle scale models. This 1/18th 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt was a "MUST HAVE" for me. It was scaled just as it came from the factory in the 1:1 versions. The detail on this car was and still is amazing to me. I've had it in my collection for over 10 years now and still give it much TLC. It was made by Precision 100 Models and retailed for around $99.99 when it was first issued. The prices dropped over the years to the cheapest I found was $59.99. They are still available on ebay from $75.00 to $140.00. It also came in white.

Some of the detail features that really caught my eye was the battery mounted in the opening trunk, the interior detail with keys hanging from the ignition, the wiring, hoses, and detail of the engine, the steelie wheels with steel colored lug nuts, and the real hood pins that kept the hood closed...

I own a couple of Revell Wiesmann's, the Roadster MF3 3x and 1x the Wiesmann GT Coupe. They suffer a little bit from panel gaps (it's still Revell of course), but back in the days these could be picked up for as little as 10 euros. The details are pretty good, paintjobs are nice too and the wheels look excellent. With the seperate hardtops for the roadsters this is a pretty nice model for what you pay for it nowadays. Here in Europe they go for 30-35 euro's second hand and the Coupe for 50-70 euros. Considering these models are pretty old that's not too bad and if you find yourself one with a dealer edition box you hit the jackpot because those are quite rare nowadays :)

The stance on especially the coupes are really awesome and they have BMW engines in the front :okay:

Same here, the dark grey version is pretty nice too. I have seen plenty of Wiesmann's in real life because the owner of the local BMW dealership owned a couple. Amazing cars in real life and the sound is mindblowing!

Here's another AUTOart gem, Corvette Coupe (C6). The detail throughout is awesome, well above average. Still available in limited supply with prices around the $40-$50. BARGAIN!
Not so under-appreciated anymore with it going for $500+ on eBay nowadays
