HPI Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) Nismo Z-Tune Z2 Bayside Blue

Post by David » Sat Aug 24, 2013 12:13 pm

We all know the R34 and its famous Bayside blue color which suits the car perfectly. Painted in this shade, the ultimate Skyline, the Z-Tune Z2, is just irresistible. :o
I have AUTOart's Z-Tune for a while now, it's a nice model for sure but when you put it next to the HPI, it will highlight all the innacuracies on the AUTOart. On the other hand, the HPI could be perfect if the wheels weren't big. It's not shocking though since they're all black.

Considering the rarity and high price tag for the AUTOart, the HPI is the best option even if AUTOart will re-released theirs.

I will try to make a side by side comparison ASAP.

Thanks ! This one will sit on my desk for a moment.
I'm still undecided about the Aa, do I need to sell it in order to fund the Diamond silver ? Decisions, decisions...

That looks awesome. Love the color combo & the aggressive stance.

It's a super crisp model which details make up for being sealed.
I would love HPI to do R33 Nismo 400R - they have done it in 1/43 scale already.

The most evident is difference in wheels and brakes!
Then you should have showed the engine of Die-Cast Z-Tune.
But really - HPI is much crisper on the outside.

I could but there's nothing to compare with. ;)
For me the headlights make all the difference as well as the famous differential oil cooler.

HPI's quality is amazing!

I have a couple of 1:43's and just at that size I am floored. I have a couple of 1:43 Autoart's and Kyosho's but they don't come close!

I am waiting on the 1:18 Lancia Stratos that HPI are due to release in the coming months. It's damn expensive but worth every penny :okay:

@Makinen : HPI's work is impressive. Their 1/43 models are so well made that it could easily be mistaken for a 1/18.
I'm looking forward to their F1 LM, it's going to be sweet !

@Gapjc : Mine came directly from Hong Kong thanks to my mom.
European stores usually have 1/18 HPIs but so far I have only seen McLarens. Those Z-Tunes seem to be limited to Asia at the moment. I pre-ordered the Midnight Purple at amiami.com (Japan), it should cost 150€ shipped.
