Pretty good, especially for the price, BUT….not completely accurate. Certain fine details are not correct. If only they had paid more attention……

    • Rudy Baeten says:

The model of the GMP Ford GT40 Le Mans winner, is also not accurate and a whole lot more expensive, than the CMR model !!!

      • Robert says:

People hang on to their GMP GT40 it’s rare seeing on E-Bay, opens up to a lot more details and is highly sought after for these reason. That’s why it is worth more today even with the inaccuracies. I don’t the same will happen to the CMR model.

      • MLB says:

Yes Rudy, you are correct about the GMP model. It has many things wrong with it, and I have one.

BUT…. why can’t or won’t another manufacturer like CMR who chooses to make essentially the same car in the same scale…. again…. bother to do proper research to get it right???

The photos look like Spark’s 1:18 scale model…………

  4. The body would be more suited to the 1969 winner. The car as it ran in 1968 had different details around the rear wheel arches, with an additional (and rather crude) lip added to help clear the new, wider rear tyres available for the race. Decent effort for the apparent price though.

Emailed CK Model Cars :they do not have a release date yet, I’m sure the model shown is the 1:18 Spark, it looks exactly like the one in my collection.

  6. JAY H says:

This GT40 looks wrong – just behind the front wheels, the body is too high and doesn’t drop down like it should. The front is too narrow and the whole car doesn’t sit right. In this day and age of computer modelling, I cannot believe CMR can get shapes like this and the Ferrari 512S so wrong.

I waited for at least 15 years for the 1968 winner, gave up, and had a 1969 car converted with correct decals and changes to body, paint scheme, and details. But I chose to finish the #9 as a race-finished car, and it is amazing. The work was done by the foremost conversion expert in modeling today, and it sits with the other 3 Le Mans winners in glass cases. My problem now is that I have dozens of large scale cars and other models, and we’re needing downsize because we just don’t need our big house anymore. After much agonizing I am going to sell the set. Ex$pensive…..but well worth it!
