First Look: Almost Real Mercedes-Benz G-Class 4X4

Team Almost Real is providing fans a first look at their next project, the 1:18, diecast, Mercedes-Benz G-Class 4X4.  Along with it’s diecast exterior and full opening features the model will up the ante with metal hinges, four wheel independent suspension, highly detailed engine bay, and complete drive shaft linkage!  We should see this beast in late Q1, early Q2.  We can’t wait!

I think I’m going to have to do this over Autoarts. Talk about looking sharp! Definitely preordering this hulk

I’l say this one is gonna be probably better than AutoArt’s offering due to the fact that it is diecast, but AutoArt hasn’t been doing bad with their composite models. I own a few and they are not half bad although I believe some of their composites don’t justify their high price. I believe this model maker is gonna be the next AutoArt.

Because a model is built from plastic instead of metal it doesn’t have value. Most first edition C7 Corvette Z06 AutoArt built are sold out by now. They re-edited the Yellow and red ones, those don’t count. i have a good number of these composite models and the fit and finish are top notch. The engineering that goes into these models are as expensive as their metal counterparts. One of the reasons why they use plastic materials is the cost of the actual molds, especially for durability. I bet they can make a lot more plastic parts than metal from similar molds, so that would be a significant saving right there. I’d like to see the actual cost of both materials just for the remainder of the comparison.

Are there any pics from the rear pls ?

I wish Almost Real would have a little more creative with their model choices, other than the OG Range Rover, they are just releasing models that already have plenty of coverage. Try an Escalade or an AMG E-wagon.

I’m intrigued at what these guys can dish out. One to watch!
