First Look: Bburago | Signature Ferrari FXX-K #88

The Ferrari FXX-K #88 was confirmed mid-year 2016 by Bburago Signature series, and today we find some early pre-production sample images of the upcoming release.  Depending on which image you view, there are pros and cons. Unfortunately, from our perspective, the cons are certainly outweighing the pros at this point.  The model looks rather toy-like in appearance. I hope the team takes heed on the comments from collectors and our team here at DiecastSociety.com.  We want the brand to evolve, improve on past successes, and gain a level of excellence or exceed the level of excellence achieved by the Hot Wheels Elite brand.  What are your thoughts folks?

It looks cheap, unfortunately… I really hope that they will made some improvements before the release…

It’s another signature I really don’t like at all.
    In fact it’s horrible.
Bburago and more specific there signature line is not moving forwards at all.
This is Race and Play quality.
If this is Bburago’s statement of ‘signature’ quality I think the California T is the only (and last) signature I will ever own. And after the R&P 488GTB (because I also do not like the signature one at all, which took forever to be available at all), perhaps the last Bburago at all.
IMO Bburago is definitely not up to the job right now.

It doesn’t look right because everything is chunky, oversized!
The mirrors, the wipers, the edges of the aero kit, the logos on the tires, and it all comes together and looks toy like, or like an up-sized 1/43 kit!

Bburago just no where near what Hotwheels Elite quality was. Spend more and buy a BBR resin version. I have this version and it is a show piece. There is a over supply of this model in so many color variations and you can find one heavily discounted on ebay much less than RRP.

    Yep that’s awful…

  6. Porsche993 says:

Wow, this looks worse than UT models from a couple of decades ago.

  7. GRKSTYL says:

I prematurely was very excited at the prospect of having an opening laferrari fxxk however just as quickly became very disappointed! I actually still really like my UT Ferrari’s from the 90’s and considered them premium in their day. Also note that although UT closed in the 90’s their core production team became associated with Gateway Global Ltd which now produces models under the AutoArt brand. Surprising though since Autoart did get licensing for the McLaren F1 but never for unmodified Ferrari’s to my knowledge. Liberty Walk etc excluded.

have to agree.. it does look very lackluster indeed. I briefly owned a Hotwheels Elite LaFerrari and this definitely looks no better. Even the Hotwheels model was quite disappointing which led me to sell it off and replace with something else. I have found with the Ferrari models that they are very much a hit and miss affair and sadly leaning more towards the miss end of the scale..
