At that price it better start too.

There _must_ be something special about this model, because it costs like my bicycle + my computer together! Is it so much better than CMC 1:18 or, for example, AutoArt 1:18 Huayra? Or is it just insane greediness?

As far as I’m aware, this is similar to their 1:18 Regera, which is an openable resin model. From what I’ve read in the past, openable resin models are more difficult to make than diecast. BBR made some attempts for the 458 and the model didn’t go into production in the end due to many flaws. Seems like FrontiArt may have found a way? Hence the price tag? Don’t forget Amalgam models are also openable resin in large scale and even they haven’t come up with an openable 1:18 yet.

    • This is the same quality as their open/close Regera which is priced at USD $680 excluding shipping. This One:1 is priced at 850 euros which is more than $900 (not sure who said it was $900). The entire production was sold to a single dealer who is asking crazy amounts of money for it. He monopolized the model so he can earn crazy profits. They just did the same with the green carbon Regera and apparently things are going well for him, so we’ll see them doing this with more models in the future. If we refuse to pay whatever this guy wants then maybe, just maybe, Frontiart will stop doing this

this single dealer try to sale it as Pure Resin so you think this cost more and hard to make , but this model isn’t 100% Resin

        • Atalante says:

This model may be mixing plastic parts for opening bits, or maybe inserts of plastic or metal in the resincast. Otherwise I agree pure resin would be really too brittle. Anyways this is complicated to develop and produce hence the price tag. But on top of that there is a single dealer that purchased the whole production and takes his cut on each model over the already expensive price. Even if won’t be as good as FA better wait for the Autoart release.
