Hey guys
So we all know the little Fiat is a great model but very overpriced.
A big part of what makes it look overpriced are the cheap, pathetic looking carbs with painted on mesh.
So what we're gonna do is make them look better.
But first, we need to get the engine cover out of the way. We do that by removing a small screw from the latches that hold it in horizontal position. One on each side. After that you take a dremel and start filing off the old trumpets. Then you attach the shiny new ones. You use forceps to slowly position them.
Then you add some bronze paint.
Ta-daaa! Collectors - doing Autoart's job since 1998 lol.

Looks a lot better, aye. Did you try taking it apart? I cant do it!
I removed 12 screws or something and the little bastard is as closed as it was with them in, I didnt even screw them back in so I wonder why they are there, lol.

The rear end started coming apart but it's weird cause the front was still attached. No idea what's going on there.

Re: Autoart Fiat Abarth 1000TCR carb improvement
Clearly I wasn`t done with this model, cause I spent a few more hours working on it today.
First order of business was the sad plastic "leather" pouch in the door card. I always wanted to replace it with actual leather, so I that got done. Before:
After:
After that I looked at the fuel tank in the front and it had these two transverse grooves that are supposed to be belts. So I used some brown leather to make me belts. Before:
After:
After that I turned to the engine. Did a few things here
-applied Nuln oil to "metal" parts to add a bit of weathering
-added two bolts that you're probably not even gonna see lol
-installed three springs on the exhausts that I saw in another build and was very impressed by. Hardest thing I've ever done, but coupled with the upgraded funnels, it looks nice.
Then the wheels received some rivets too.
That's all for this one, thanks for looking!

Sweet! In Historic racing in the Netherlands one of these is often fighting with a big Falcon. Fun to watch!
