Minichamps re-release of Audi 90 Quattro IMSA

If you were lucky enough to score the original release of the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA car you know this is one of Minichamps best efforts (well In my opinion it is). Model has been re-released as #5 Haywood car, this is your chance to own on spectacular model that shines on multiple levels. Why are you still reading this, go buy this model now!

A bit about the Audi 90… The Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO (internally called R5) is a race car that was used in the 1989 American IMSA GTO series. Prior to 1989 he achieved victories in rallye sport as well as the overall championship in the 1988 US Trans AM series with Audi 200 quattro Trans-AM. The aim was to underline the domination of the Quattro drive train. It is the only Audi factory racing car that is based on the Audi 80/90 B3.

The body of the 90 Quattro IMSA GTO has similarities with the street legal Audi 90, but apart from the batch series steel roof, which is required by the regulations, all other parts are different. The body consists of a mesh tube frame and the body shell made out of fibre glass is attached to it. As a result the overall weight is reduced to 1206 kilograms. In comparison to the standard spec Audi, the race car has a wider body and a rear spoiler; on high speed tracks it even has a two story rear spoiler.

Didn't realize this was coming, but saw it in Replicarz's most recent update (its available now).

Glad I got one of the originals...and awesome model.
